If you have AMD software on your pc uninstall that

    Also uninstall all audio devices

Then go to settings sound and click load windows defaults. VIOLA.

  • wow the installer also disabled my windows update service.. i had to set it back to automatic. now trying windows update to see if it will fix it..

Edit.. ahh I see what is happening.. the stupid aorus update was a 32 bit one.. there is no realtek 64 bit folder or drivers.. it changed the device name too.. wish I had just left the darn thing..

    Teddy M May 13, 2020 9:14 pm Reply
  • Mine's just disappeared after installing the latest version from aorus.. and I can't see it in the windows store to download either.. sigh. You really need this app to correctly detect socket insert/removal on the fly.

  • Tnx, but a little problem is still here. Before windows update messed up the audio, I could plug in the headset into the laptop, and a little box popped up wjth the question what I put in (headset or microphone etc). But now the box won't show up anymore. Until I open the HD Realtek configuration once, then the box pop up until I shut off the laptop. Anyone a solution?

  • I just want my damn mic to work…this is a bunch of bullshit for something that should be so simple. And the realtek links are outdated.

  • I am literally so confused on this. My audio works perfect and I have no issues what so ever. But there is literally no Realtek Audio Manager thing and no HDA folder. I’ve been trying to get the “what device did you plug in” to come back for days and I have no clue what to do. Nothing that the internet has told me is working. It always tells me to do something and I follow the steps but I’m missing something somewhere in the steps and then I’m stuck again. I just want my headset mic to work man.

  • Realtek folder is NOT in my programs files folder , It's in my Program Files 86 folder.. and there is NO HDA folder at all… thanks for trying.. but none of this helped me..
